THE POP/DANCEHALL SUPERSTAR already confirmed for Leno, Ferguson and Tavis Smiley
20-times platinum dancehall superstar Shaggy will impact late night airwaves as his latest album ‘Intoxication’ hits the streets November 13 on Big Yard/VP Records. The same day of the release, Shaggy will perform the growing single “Bonafide Girl†on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, backed by “It Wasn’t Me†singing partner in crime Rik Rok. November 14 Shaggy will again rock TV sets with another performance on the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and sits down to talk with Tavis Smiley.
‘Intoxication’ is full of bangers sure to add to his booming catalog of club staples and crossover singles. “Can’t Hold Me†announces Shaggy’s return over jumping electro-tinged production. “Bonafide Girl” is a classic Shaggy dancehall-pop combo with a sweet hook, and “Church Heathen,” already a club favorite and chart topper in Jamaica, features a pounding rhythm and monk like chants over which Shaggy weaves a tale of a church congregation’s hypocrisy. High-profile collaborations with hitmaker Akon and Collie Buddz grace the album as well. Akon adds a silky smooth chorus to “What’s Love,” as the dynamic, multi-platinum duo deliberate love and leaving a girl for all the wrong reasons.
