Since the most in-demand dancehall artist dropped his debut album “Gangster For Life” this summer, Mavado has brilliantly shined as the next star of his genre. Now the garrison’s top deejay is crossing over to the hip-hop realm and teaming up with major players in the game.
Last night at DJ Khaled’s Birthday Bash in Miami’s South Beach, Mavado appeared alongside Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, Birdman, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy and Plies. He has also been in the studio recording for the renowned hip hop Producer/DJ Khaled’s upcoming album. Mavado has also collaborated with rap artist Uncle Murda on “Informer,†Wyclef Jean on “Welcome To The East,†and Foxy Brown on her brand new single “We Are On Fire,†which is currently Ms. Jones Morning Show’s “Pick Of The Week†on New York’s #1 Radio Station Hot 97.

In early December, Mavado returns to Jamaica to shoot the music video for “Last Night,†his next single off his critically–acclaimed album Gangster For Life. He will also record new tracks for the highly anticipated Alliance album, set to be released in late 2008 by VP Records. He continues to take time out for his new charity Connect Jamaica, which donates computers to underprivileged schools across Jamaica.
