Richie Spice: In The Streets To Africa

Spice is no less spectacular in the studio than he is live

spice.jpgWith his latest release “In the Streets of Africa”, Spice delivers an array of conscious vibes and dancehall beats that proves his versatility as an artiste. On Spice’s sophomore album he tackles the issues of social injustice and love, while promoting a cultural consciousness that exists far beyond the music. The album’s opening tune, “Get Up,” is a rousing dedication to the people and is reminiscent of the likes of the late, great Bob Marley and Garnet Silk.

Spice’s “My Girl”, “Groovin”, “Baby Face” (featuring his brothers Spanner Banner and Pliers) and his chart topping “Brown Skin” are all commendable efforts of Spice’s aim at lovers-rock. While “Digital Ways” featuring the late Joseph Hill of the group “Culture” reflects on the role of technology in today’s society.

Vocally and musically, Spice is no less spectacular in the studio than he is live. His latest album is set to catapult him further into the lead, even if it will do so with various musical means that not everyone will appreciate.
