Exciting Green Synergy Road Show at Ken’s Wildflower

A massive crowd turned out to witness the exciting Heineken Green Synergy Road Show held at Ken’s Wildflower last Friday.

The event showcased the two finalists in the 2009 Green Synergy competition, DJ Jagga and DJ Chungy, as well as Kurt Riley from FAME FM and the Coppershot crew.

The Main Events team created a setting and atmosphere that was just right for a great party. Kurt Riley had the vibes going from early with some high-energy selections. He played from retro dancehall, hip hop, along with some sweet reggae music which the crowd truly enjoyed.

The Coppershot crew of Cutty, Mark Chin and Mathew had the crowd rocking throughout their set with some sizzling hot selections. With Cutty leading from the front, Coppershot set the crowd on fire as they dropped some musical bombs.

The Green Synergy DJs were undaunted by the huge crowd. Both Chungy and Jagga stepped up to the plate and delivered entertaining sets which the crowd showed their appreciation as they danced away.

DJ Chungy did himself proud as he got busy on the turntables reeled off some ‘vibesy’ selections from dancehall, hip hop R&B.

DJ Jagga from Portland really rocked the crowd as he went through his set. He showed his experience as a DJ in catering for the different age groups in the audience. Jagga played some real classic music from the Motown era, reminiscent of a Rae Town or a House of Leo party. He also played days some retro dancehall as well as current dancehall and hip hop selections.

It was a real Heineken party as patrons made good use of the Heineken bucket deals. They also cashed in on some giveaways courtesy of Claro, a sponsor of the Green Synergy competition.

The weekend ended on a high with the Heineken Green Synergy Igloo edition, staged at Sugar Man Beach, Hellshire, Portmore on Sunday September 27. Once again a huge crowd turned out, most after 7:00 pm to party to the music of Coppershot and the Green Synergy DJs, Chungy and Jagga.

The DJs kept up their good showing from Friday night and brought on the party vibes with some high-energy music. The crowd evidently came out to party and expressed themselves on the
dance floor.

The next big event will be the well-anticipated Heineken Green Synergy Finals which takes place at the Chinese Benevolent Association, Hope Road, Kingston on October 10.

At the end of this event one man will be crowned – either Chungy or Jagga – as Jamaica’s Green Synergy Champion. Over $2 million in cash and prizes will be up for grabs on the night. The winner will represent Jamaica at the Regional Finals to be held in St Maarten on October 17.

Adding to the excitement on the night will be a big battle of the mentors who will be facing off ‘tune-fi-tune’ style.

Also coming to rip the place apart are Kurt Riley, Delano from Renaissance and last year’s Green Synergy champion DJ.
